PACC 2015
September 19th 2015, Visited the HF-day, organized by the Veron Traffic Bureau in Apeldoorn and received the 2nd place reward in 2015 PACC contest in the most competivive section: SO LP CW. Top 3 stations from 50 participants were: 1 PA0O 1442 QSO,s 2 PA3AM 1111 QSO,s 3 PA2W 1077 QSO,s Position in 2010 was the third place and in 2014 I also reached the second position, so two times in a row “best of the rest”. Skywire / Loop for 160 meters
Saturday 15th of August: Last part of work on my Horizontal Loop or Sky-wire antenna. Unfortunally it was raining all afternoon, but around 16:00 hrs I was ready to connect the last two open wire -ends and the 187 meters 2,5mm2 wire loop was closed. It felt like closing a dyke. Average height is 15 meters and 8 trees were used as supports. Feedline is 17,5 meters high and in the North-east angle of the loop. I’ve used some fine 10 cm long Pyrex Glass type isolators. BC453 Receiver 150 – 560Khz
2015, May 14th 2015, On Acension-day I,ve managed to buy a couple of BC453 receivers. It was at a car boot sale during the “Jutberg event”, a radio Flea Market, where I found a BC453-B from the Royal Canadian Air Force and a ARC (Aircraft radio Corporation) R-11-A receiver. Both receivers where offered to me for a 30€ both, which I accepted. The BC453 was one of a set of similar receivers covering different frequency bands for airborne use and known as the “Command Receivers”. Installation of new Antenna Tower
With help of two committed radiofriends (Left to right; John PE1RZU, Gerrit PG3VA and Gerrit PA3AM ) we have managed to install the 25 meter Bijzen Crank Up Tower on a sunny Saturday, 2nd of May 2015. Initial start of the project was 11th of Januari 2014. I will soon complete this article with an overvieuw of pictures and technical explanations of this 17 months-project. AGCW-40-3 Surfing around on the internet, found this activity on the website of AGCW. (I am member 3375). Year-round on the air activity 3 years “new” 40m Band Plan All CW contacts from 29th March 2012 onwards between 7035 and 7040kHz of at least 5 minutes duration count for points.
